I'm from England and I was 21 when I first got on a plane and went abroad for the first time, that was to Cyprus. Further package holidays followed to the likes of Greece, France, Tenerife with family and friends.
It was not until I was 36 that I first put on a backpack and went on my first solo trip.
It was 2012 and I was searching for something new in life. I was stuck in my comfort zone and was seeing the years go by, doing the same thing and living the same thing over and over again year after year. I needed to make a change in my life , at this point and I found what I wanted when I watched this movie called 'A Map For Saturday'.
In January 2013 I bought a round the world ticket and my first destination was Bangkok in Thailand, followed by Singapore, Perth (Australia), Sydney, Melbourne & Auckland.
I had the time of my life and really discovered by love for travel. I have now stayed in many hostels and really love the vibe and how easy it is to meet new people. I have learned a lot from my adventures and I hope to pass on any advice or tips that can help you with your backpacking trip.
That's my quick summary, thanks for reading
